Crowdfunding Order Fulfillment Services

How Do Crowdfunding Fulfillment Services Work?

Is your business in need of crowdfunding fulfillment services? Find out how they work and whether you need them.

Globally, the crowdfunding industry has raised over $34 billion.

Have you ever wondered what happens after the crowdfunding projects are fully funded? Who gets the rewards to the backers’ hands?

You can try to do it yourself but you’ll need a ton of supplies, learn about shipping rates and taxes, and so much more. And if it goes wrong? It’ll be a shipping nightmare and no one wants to be there.

Thankfully, there are crowdfunding fulfillment services. At Leap-3PL, we work hard to be the labeling, packaging, and shipping heroes of the crowdfunding industry.

Crowdfunding Fulfillment Specialties:

  • Kickstarter Fulfillment Solutions
  • Indiegogo Fulfillment

How Do Crowdfunding Fulfillment Services Work?

Crowdfunding fulfillment services are responsible for getting the rewards of crowdfunding projects into the hands of the people who funded them (the backers).

This means if you work with us, we’ll be in charge of getting all of your rewards safely into our facilities, process them, package them, and ship them out.

The best part? We’ll keep you updated on exactly what’s going on.

Let us walk you through each of these steps.

Receiving Inventory

After you send all of your rewards to us, we’ll make sure we received every item that was supposed to be sent.

Next, we’ll enter every reward into our system or apply labels onto them if they don’t already have any. Barcodes on each reward are extremely important because it’ll allow us to track every item.

Then, we’ll closely inspect all of the rewards to make sure nothing was damaged during the shipping process and report everything back to you.

Storage

After all the rewards are accounted for, we’ll organize all of them into storage bins in the categories or orders they need to be shipped in.

Any extra inventory will be securely stored away in other sections of our warehouses until restocking is needed.

Our inventory systems will keep track of where everything is stored and automatically let us know when something is running low.

Integration

Before shipping, we’ll integrate your e-commerce systems with ours, therefore, we can see exactly who ordered what and where each item is going. We offer ecommerce integration for most platforms.

Packaging

Once we have all the information we need, we’ll start packaging all the rewards. We’ll choose the best packaging for the reward unless you have any specific requirements. If there are any rewards that need to go out in batches, our systems will also take that into consideration and package them accordingly.

Before shipping out the rewards, we’ll inspect the packages one more time to make sure they are correct and going out to the right person.

Shipping

Depending on the type of rewards you have and where they’re going, we’ll choose the best and most cost-effective delivery method for you. If you would like to use a specific carrier, we can work with you.

Returns

Processing returns and exchanges are part of our service. We do ask, however, that you set up clear returning policies for your customers to avoid confusions and problems.

Once we receive the rewards back from the customers, we’ll process them, place them back into inventory, and issue the refunds or exchanges according to your return policies.

How Are Crowdfunding Fulfillment Services Different From Traditional Fulfillment Services?

The main difference between crowdfunding fulfillment service and other types of fulfillment services such asthird-party order fulfillment and drop shipping is the sequence and speed in which products are ordered, manufactured, and shipped.

Traditional Fulfillment Services

Without going into too much detail, third-party order fulfillment centers only hold a certain amount of inventory while the retailer advertises their products. Then, they fulfill the orders once the customer orders come through. They do not help retailers restock.

Drop shipping waits for customer orders, manufactures, then ships.

While these fulfillment methods may work for traditional retailers, they are not ideal for crowdfunding projects due to the speed at which rewards need to be sent out.

Crowdfunding Fulfillment Services

With crowdfunding, the product was already advertised during the campaign. By the time the project is fully funded, orders are already made, and the backers are waiting for their rewards.

The manufacturing of the rewards needs to have been already done so the fulfillment center can get them as soon as possible, package them, and ship them out quickly.

Crowdfunding fulfillment services are uniquely designed and equipped with the latest technologies to handle high volumes of products quickly.

Other Advantages of Crowdfunding Fulfillment Services

Aside from speed, crowdfunding fulfillment services also have experience in working with creative minds.

We won’t assume you already know how labeling and shipping work. We’ll work with you to pick the best packaging for your rewards, help you decide what the best shipping rates are, and make the overall processes as simple and painless for you as possible.

Even better? We’ll handle returns and exchanges and troubleshoot any shipping problems. Considering how unpredictable shipping can be sometimes, this is a lifesaver.

Last but not least, we offer storage space. You won’t have to go find and pay someone else to store your rewards and ship them to the fulfillment center each time more is needed. All your rewards will be here in one place, saving you both time and money to focus on growing your business.

Your Backers Deserve the Best

Your backers believed in your project enough to make it happen. You should give them the professionalism and quality they deserve.

If you decide to work with Leap-3PL, you are not just paying us to do manual labor. You’re paying for knowledge and experience on how to store your rewards safely, package them beautifully and ship them out quickly. You are paying for efficiency and customer satisfaction. The faster your backers receive their rewards, the happier they’ll be and the more confidence they will have in you.
